OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophyCulture,
in our hands,
carried forward.
Culture,
carried forward.
There are hands that create and hands that receive.
Works, skills and the intentions they hold
pass from person to person.
Keep a record. Put it into words.
Experience it in person.
Through both digital and in-person experiences, LEGASEE Inc. creates opportunities to encounter culture and carry its value forward.
May the culture that moves us today
become someone else’s treasured encounter tomorrow.
MESSAGE
MessageCulture’s future,
Connecting those who create
with the people who enjoy it.
A painting moves us; a performance stays with us long afterward. Encounters with culture gradually change how we see things and live our daily lives. We want to create a society where those encounters are close at hand.
As a maker of Kamakura-bori carved lacquerware, I have devoted myself to creating. Alongside making my own work, I value my connection with the people it reaches. Someone takes an interest, learns the story behind it and looks forward to what comes next. I believe that relationship gives culture the strength to continue.
LEGASEE aims to be a place where people encounter many forms of culture—crafts, fine art, music, performing arts and architecture—and nurture those relationships. Record an experience that stayed with you, explore the activities of an artist or maker who caught your attention, and discover the next work you want to see or place you want to visit. We want your own interests to open up a wider relationship with culture.
To do this, we are growing a digital space for recording and connecting, while creating opportunities to discover the stories behind creative expression through words and firsthand experiences. We will also work with companies to bring the individuality of cultural creators into new products and spaces.
Both the expression being created today and the culture passed down over generations begin to take on new meaning when they meet the next person.
Culture, in our hands, carried forward.Together with those who create and those who enjoy, we want to nurture what comes next for culture.
